For the all round hunter who may occasionally shoot thick skinned dangerous game it has to be said that the calibre choice of .300 Winchester Magnum and .375 Holland & Holland Magnum makes perfect sense. Each calibre is iconic in its own right, with the .375 Holland claiming to be the father of all belted magnums, including the .300 Winchester, which is based on the same case. To anyone familiar with this blog, neither cartridge should require any introduction as they constantly show a presence in our order book.
Whilst these current climes have proved frustrating for many a hunter there is no harm in planning for the future and getting ready for the next great hunting adventure. Certainly when things calm down we can all expect to be on the happy hunting trail and whether in North America, Africa, Asia or the South Pacific, the compactness and versatility of this rifle will without question come into its own.

An absolutely wonderful takedown rifle !
I am suitably impressed with the new lever to detach the barrel. I wasn’t a fan of the lever on the side of the forearm as on previous examples I’ve seen.
I think we spoke about this when I was at the factory a couple of years ago!
Guess we will now have to talk seriously about one......
425 and 318 perhaps?
Cheers

Sounds a plan to me Nick. We have previously looked into combining both calibres on the one action. Certainly an interesting proposition!
All the very best

Love the combination, but what about a 308 Win and 338 Win for Whitetail and Elk hunting ?
Trigger on February 16, 2021 at 6:56 pm
Dear Charles
An interesting question, but you need to consider the parent case. If you are refer to the standard .308 Win and the .338 Winchester Magnum then you have two very different cases and in reality very different actions. One is built on a short action, the other ideally on a magnum. Perhaps a .300 Win Mag and .338 Win Mag would work better.
All the best

416 Remington and 8 mm Remington would be the perfect combination.

The best combination would be 416 Remington and 8 mm Remington.
