I think you will find, if you look back in history, that people have always decorated their weapons. It has always played an important part and makes individual pieces unique. I can assure you they are a very effective weapon when used for the purpose for which they were designed!

The guns aside (!) I really like the textures evoked in the lower photo. Rich, complex, but not cluttered. V'r nice.
