The two rifles shown here have all the fine hallmarks of Hartmann & Weiss. Built in 7mm Winchester Short Magnum and .300 Wincester Short Magnum the makers have utilised their own short or 'Kurz' action which comfortably holds three rounds in the magazine. The rifles feature strap over combs, extended guard tangs, peep sights, heel/toe plates and the makers own distinct take down mechanism. Stocked with exhibition Turkish walnut they make for a wonderful brace of rifles with very elegant lines.
The engraving was executed by maestro Alain Lovenberg and quite obviously has an Arabic theme. The geometric pattern has an etched background with wonderfully inlaid white and yellow gold throughout. The sheer accuracy and cleanliness of the work a definite hallmark of his.
Long may the gentleman at Hartmann & Weiss continue to produce such masterpieces.

Dear Trigger
There is no denying that this pair of rifles are extremely well built, the timber compliments them so well.
The sheer precision of the engraving would lead one to believe that it was produced mechanically, "Alain Lovenberg" shows himself to be somewhat of a perfectionist and all credit should be given to such an accomplished engraver!
Can I see a push button release on the take down mechanism, is that a magazine floor plate release catch inside the trigger guard?
I love the addition of the 'peep sight' on the bolt it gives a much longer sight picture.
Only one aspect of finished rifles has me wondering, the lack of timber behind the bolt handle, what is shown would quickly be damaged with just a little knock.
Kind regards. Peter.

This is what is great about The Explora -- WR is not afraid to show examples of great gunmaking by other firms who may be competing for some of the same clients. It takes considerable self-confidence to do so. Great job -- and kudos to H&W as well,
