Simon why have the large calibre like .577 and .600 become so popular again (or am I mistaken)? This is not to suggest any inherent fault with these calibres but to me they would appear to have little relevance to todays hunting in Africa.Does size matter?

I think that .577 and .600 have always been popular and are only made by very few makers so are desirable in that form also. People by big cars in a world of energy savings and things like that so size does seem to matter. We will see moving forwards if the large bore orders keep up. I believe they will as the .577 is a classic WR Rifle.

    Evening Sir,

Wonderful work as always in these pictures, congrats to the owners I would say they will all be thrilled with the beautiful work.

Now for just a little of my opinions, one thing for certain, I appear to be a guy that doesn't like to keep his opinion to himself. My apology to your faithful followers who are tired of hearing my nickels worth of two cents. That being said her is go again. Simon while all of the work you are sharing with us followers, I really like the fantasy engraving of the lion floor plate!!!! Now that's something that's not the norm and it isn't wasted on me. Thank you and please tell Mr. Lantuch great job!!!

GROAN......yet more desirable firearms to dream about! Still, without this blog I'd have nothing to fulfil the fantasy. Seriously lovely stuff Simon, thanks for posting.

    Simon,

While looking at the photo's this morning again, I noticed a wonderful tool pouch. I bet if that pouch could talk there are some great stories there....aged nicely!!!

The tools that are in a different photo, are they for sale on your site? May I ask what is the handle material on these tools? I purchased a pouch but haven't gotten the tools as of yet. Thank you for the time to respond Sir.

    In Christ

This tool roll has a set of rosewood turn screws and chamber brush in. The purpose of the roll is to fill with whatever suits your gun or rifle best. I will have a look and see how clear we have made that and if suggested contents can be packaged up into a 'lot' to help.

This is fantastic "firearms porn", if you don't mind the analogy?
I am the proud owner of a cased pair of antique percussion double- barelled turnover pocket pistols by Westley Richards, and this helps to make the connection with your modern rifles.
