Habsburg Hector Fur-lined Waistcoat
With its distinctively Austrian styling details, Habsburg's Hector Fur-Lined Waistcoat is a brilliantly designed and meticulously constructed body warmer in luxurious natural materials.
Loden originated in the Tyrol as a rough fabric for peasants to wear while working in Alpine terrain. It became increasingly popular with Austrian hunters and nobility in the late 19th century and today is associated with high-class Austrian hunting and country-wear.
Made from the wool of alpine sheep, it is an early performance fabric, being very strong, water-resistant, and hard-wearing, yet fully breathable. Here, married with natural fur, it provides extreme comfort and warmth for the coldest of winters and makes a cozy under-layer as well as snug top-layer which allows for free arm movement.
Practical details like, neatly zipped and slanted side pockets and an adjustable back are teamed with distinctive styling, a high collar and a beautifully cut drape. Not only wonderfully warm and weather resistant, the Hector is so beautifully made that it will hold its own in the finest company.
Loich Leather Jacket by Maximilian
Maximillian is the new incarnation of the design team and factory of former customer favourite Schneiders. Made in Austria to the same exacting standards, this beautiful, soft, Loich Leather Jacket by Maximilian is both subtle, with its matted finish, and supremely comfortable. The cut and stitching is peerless and, consequently, this natural material fits like a second skin.
Four external pockets provide ample carrying capacity and inner detailing, like the drawstring back adjustment, zipped inner pockets, and full lining complete the sophistication of this otherwise simple-looking classic. With a soft, unconstructed body and supple arms, it wears almost like a heavy over-shirt, with all the associated comfort and ease.
Habsburg Ladies Greifenstein Jacket
Another Habsburg classic is the Ladies Greifenstein Jacket. The tailor’s craft is fully tested by this seamless blending of three luxurious outdoor materials: supple suede, natural loden, and soft corduroy, with knitted woolen sleeves.
The structured shape, with its fitted shoulders and a nipped waist, provides a distinctly feminine silhouette while providing ample movement for active sports.
Leather-tabbed, concealed zips, button-down pockets, and clean lines combine to make this jacket a stand-out garment in polite company but no compromise on the terrace on a chill evening or even for running the retrievers behind a shooting line.
Filson is an American legend and these heavy cotton shirts are part of the reason why. The Alaskan Guide Shirt is the perfect outer layer for rugged outdoor work. worn over a T-shirt, the dense weave offers protection from the elements and abrasion and allows for free movement, whatever your activity.
Pleated shoulders, dual-buttoned chest pockets, unbreakable buttons. They all ensure that this shirt will become a practical favourite and last for years of hard use. This dark heater grey and black check is distinctive and stylish, it goes well with blue denim and makes the Alaskan Guide shirt as much a casual fashion choice as it is a work-wear one.
Properly cut, tight double seam stitching and attention to every detail, ensure this shirt will handle hard work but those details also make it look better than the rest. An American classic, make no mistake.
Another of our favourites from Italian belt-maker Post & Co. This Snake Skin Belt, handmade from genuine exotic skin, not faked to look like it, lifts any garment to another level, be it a pair of jeans or a safari suit. Meticulously crafted for hard-wearing excellence, that detail is what makes it a stand out in any company.
Its one-and-a-half inch width makes it easy to team with any pair of trousers and the solid brass buckle will last forever. It may cost a fraction more than a common belt but it punches way above its pay grade in terms of visual impact.
Meindl is another continental brand that fits nicely into the modern sporting world, wherever you may be. Beautifully crafted in Germany from the finest, ethically hunted, red deer skins, it offers a degree of authenticity hard to find elsewhere. Every one is unique.
Lined in a contrasting red and blue check, with finely stitched pockets and button holes, this Meindl Konrad Jacket has natural horn buttons and an adjustable half-belt. It sits beautifully on the shoulders and feels incredibly comfortable.
Crafting soft, natural deer skins into sophisticated garments like this requires incredible skill and attention to detail. The Konrad jacket is a clear example of how stylish and practical such garments can be when everything is done right.
