description
A sidelock ejector double rifle made by Belgium maker Marcel Thys. Built on a back action sidelock with intercepting sears and Holland style bolstered frame with raised rib cocking indicators, disk set strikers, non-automatic safety, strap over the comb, articulated front trigger and extended trigger tang. Stocked in a striking piece of Turkish walnut with a full pistol grip and trap grip cap and a nicely shaped semi-beavertail forend with Anson push rod and all adorned tear drops and a classic point pattern checkering. Rifle has 26 ½" Chopper Lump barrels with a ramp front sight and matted quarter rib with a single folding leaf rear sight blade marked with a gold inlaid triangle and regulated for 100 yds. Action is case hardened and engraved with the Maker's name in banners and a full coverage acanthus scroll engraving with "Safe" and the serial number inlaid in gold. Rifle has a 14 1/16" LOP over a 5/8" thick "Kickeez" rubber pad. No sling swivel and no cheekpiece. The rifle shows little to no signs of use and is in 98% original condition with a perfect bore.
The 7x75R VH is a rimmed cartridge developed in the late 1930's by E.A. Vom Hofe. The cartridge shoots a 175gr bullet around 2,750 fps.
