Fine J. Rigby & Co. .416 bolt action rifle completed in 1947. Built on an original Obendorf, single square bridge, magnum Mauser action with trigger guard magazine release, side safety and the front ring engraved 'RIGBY .416 BIG GAME'. Zeiss Diavari 1.5-6x42 scope on Eramatic swing off QD mounts. 23" barrel with an excellent bore, barrel band, ramp foresight with single bead (hood missing), short file cut rib with one standing 100 yard sight and two folding leaves regulated at 200 and 300 yards. The full pistol grip stock measures 13 1/2" to the centre of the black Pachmayr pad and features a case colour hardened grip cap with trap, sling stud and recoil bar. The rifle has had a refurbishment at some point but has been in a private collection for the past 15 years. The stock features some handling marks but the overall condition of the rifle is very good.
