Francotte 416 Rigby Bolt Action

Serial Number 19447

$12,500.00

description

Made by August Francotte, according to a previous owner, ca. 1942 and is probably the only wartime era Rigby that Francotte made and one of only a handful made during any period.

Uniquely tapered 26" barrel by Belgium barrel maker Laurent Lochet-Habran, has Rigby style quarter rib rear sight and a banded front sight. Rigby style sleeved on barrel mounted forward sling swivel, and stubby quarter rib with one standing/1 folding (100, 200 yds) rear sights.

Mauser action with drop belly magazine that holds 5 down to strip one out of the magazine for 5 rounds total and a lever-release floor plate.

Rifle originally a set trigger but was sent to G&H to be converted to a single trigger and had a new quick release 1" scope mount installed and is fitted with a 1" Swarovski Habicht 1.4-4x24mm Scope. The original triggers are still included with the rifle.

Nicely figured walnut stock has a RH European style cheekpiece and a 13 15/16" LOP over a red rubber pad. Guard bow is separate from the bottom metal and extends to the trap grip cap.

Rifle weighs 10 lbs. 2 oz. and is complete in its maker's case.

Good, usable rifle that feeds reliably and has a nice heft.
