J. Rigby & Co. (Paso Robles, CA) .470 NE Boxlock Ejector.  

Merkel’s modified A&D boxlock action with an intercepting sear and Greener style cross bolt, disk-set strikers, clipped fences, manual safety, and two triggers. Action has a traditional color hardened finish and a bold scroll engraving. Guard bow extends along the full pistol grip to the the trap grip cap. The grip cap and guard bow are engraved and the trigger guard inlayed in gold initials: M.B. 

 24” chopper lump barrels have ejectors, a quarter rib with 1 standing/2 folding leaf Express sights (50, 100, 150 yds) that are lined in gold. Ramp foresight has a brass bead sight blade. 

California English walnut stock has nice figure and is properly laid out for strength, has a RH cheekpiece with a shadowline and a 14 5/8” over a Pachmayr Decelerator. No provision for a sling on the stock or the barrels.  

Rifle shows signs of use with some handling marks on the stock and scratches on the left barrels over the chambers. Colors are good with some wear on the forward part of the bottom of the action. Beavertail forend with a Deeley style forend latch. 24 lpi checkering on the grip and forend with Mullered borders.
