Pre WWI J. Rigby & Co. Best Quality Sidelock Ejector Double Rifle in .470 3 1/4" NE. This rifle was finished in 1912 and features classic dipped-edge lock plates, carved fences, and wonderful period engraving. The gun has ejectors, disk set strikers and an automatic safety. Rare to find, this rifle features a spade head shaped rib extension and patent screw grip third bite. The 28” chopper lump barrels have excellent bores. Quarter rib is hand filed and has a standing Express sight with two folding leaves, all platinum lined, and marked "50 yds" "100" and 150" respectively.  Original stock has a full pistol grip and a horn grip cap, with drop points, flat top checkering, and a Silvers pad. The rifle has a replacement beavertail shaped forend with a push rod release. Mostly gray receiver has traces of case colors in protected areas, the gun is tight on face, ejectors are timed and strong.
