Westley Richards 12g Hand Detachable Lock Shotgun. This model was is a "C" Quality Double Hammerless Ejector Gun ca. 1900-1904. Two triggers and auto safety, patent hand detachable locks, removable cover plate, top lever and dolls head extension. Splinter forend with horn tip, Deeley catch and patent Deeley ejectors. Straight hand grip has heal & toe plates and serrated butt. Blank brass oval, action is gray with engraving pattern standard on the "C" model. Gun is No. 1 of a broken pair of guns and numbered in gold on top rib, top lever and forend latch. Gun was refurbished along the way but still retains the original 30" shoe lump barrels. Barrels have good bores, are dent free and have min wall thickness of .022" in both barrels. Chambers are 2 5/8" and both bores measure .734". Stock has nice figure and is crack free, forearm iron appears to be original but wood has been either replaced or refitted. Barrel black and stock condition are consistent with each other showing signs of being hunted and handled but generally well cared for. Included in a maker's period lightweight leather case with trade labels.
