Holland & Holland 12g/12g The Sporting Model Two-Bbl Set O/U Shotgun

Built on Holland’s proprietary trigger-plate o/u action with quick-detachable, selective trigger-lock assembly and bifurcated lump system for a low- profile action. The bolstered, sideplated action is engraved in full coverage H&H House, or “Royal”, engraving pattern with the Maker’s name arching across the sideplates in gold. “The Sporting Model” is engraved on the bottom of the action.

Original two-barrel set, both with original 1993 London proof marks (coincidentally the same year H&H introduced the Sporter)  for 3” (76mm) chambers. The 28” demi-bloc barrels are choked .005” and .010” and the 30” demi-bloc barrels are fitted with a full complement of, presumably, Briley screw chokes marked “A” through “E” (A - .000” or Cylinder choke (2), B - .010” or ¼ choke (2), C - .015” or 3/8 choke, D - .025” or 5/8 choke, E - .020”/half, and F - .040 or Full choke). Both barrels are fitted with solid game ribs.

The nicely figured walnut stock has as half-pistol grip with a horn cap and a slim game forend with push-rod release and both are checkered in a traditional point pattern with Mullered borders. The stock has a 14 12” LOP over a thin, leather covered pad and the gold stock oval depicts a coat of arms.

Gun is housed in a Marvin Huey O&L two-barrel set flat case with horn handle turn screws and brass accessories. The case has a green canvas cover.

The gun has just returned from Griffin & Howe and has had a full strip and clean and other service work to bring the gun back up to its best mechanical condition. The gun’s case colors show a nice patina on the edges with strong colors in the center. The stock shows some marks but is consistent with the case color’s condition. Overall, gun is in very good shape cosmetically and excellent shape mechanically. Priced to sell, this gun can be had here for a fraction of replacement cost.
